Ferg's

Nearly two city blocks across from Tropicana Field: 100+ TVs, a backyard that holds 3,000, an axe-throwing bar, a dog park with a grill, a private clubhouse with a DJ booth and live music most weekends. Open since 1992 and still the loudest room in St. Pete on a game day.

Ferg's

1320 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33705

Started as a Sunoco station in the Gas Plant District in 1992 — Mark Ferguson, a local teacher, turned it into a sports bar and never stopped adding on. Today it's eleven group and event spaces, 100+ TVs, and a backyard built for thousands, all directly across Central Ave from Tropicana Field.

Capacity
3,000 in the backyard
Opened
1992

Getting there

  • From the beaches: Central Ave east straight into downtown St. Pete — Ferg's is on the north side at 13th St.
  • From Tampa: I-275 south to exit 22 (I-175 / Tropicana Field), then north on 16th St and east on Central Ave.
  • From north Pinellas: US-19 south to 22nd Ave N, east to 16th St S, then Central Ave.

Parking

  • Ferg's own lots wrap the building on Central Ave and 13th St — they fill first on Rays and concert nights.
  • Tropicana Field's lots sit directly across the street and open hours before first pitch.
  • Metered street parking on Central Ave and 1st Ave S is free most nights after 6pm — check the signs.
  • Game days: park once and walk. The whole block gets shut tight an hour before first pitch.

Know before you go

  • Open Mon–Thu 11am–11pm, Fri–Sat 11am–1am, Sun 11am–10pm. Kitchen runs late on weekends.
  • Trivia is every Thursday at 7pm (unless the Rays are home) — top three teams take $30, $20 and $10 in house cash.
  • Open Jam Mic Night is Wednesdays at 7pm out on the patio.
  • St. Pete Axe & Ale on the south patio takes lane reservations online — walk-ups get squeezed on weekends.
  • Dog Park & Grill rule number one: no dogs without people, no people without dogs.
  • Big concerts at Ferg's Pavilion ticket through TicketWeb, not at the door.
