Signing a Waiver for Hot Chicken? Dave's Hits Pinellas Park

If your ideal lunch comes with a side of legal personal liability, Pinellas County has some very spicy news for you. Dave's Hot Chicken is expanding its footprint across the 727, and they are bringing a spice level so intense that you literally have to sign your rights away just to take a bite.

Nashville Style Heat Meets Pinellas Park

As we broke down in our latest video, "This is their second location in Penellis County." They are already slinging crispy tenders over in Clearwater, but now Pinellas Park is officially getting in on the action. The new spot is set to open its doors tomorrow, August 6th, right around 11:00 a.m., giving local spice heads a brand new playground to test their pain tolerance.

Dave's has built a massive cult following for its street-food vibe and giant Nashville-style hot chicken tenders and sliders. You can keep things sensible with mild or medium spices, or you can completely throw caution to the wind and step up to their ultimate tier: the Reaper.

Going Down the Reaper Rabbit Hole

We are not talking about a polite little kick that makes you reach for an extra sweet tea. The Reaper is a whole different beast. As we pointed out in the reel, "if you want to eat this Reaper, this Reaper thing, you're going to sign a waiver."

That is right—an actual legal disclaimer protecting the house before you sink your teeth into a piece of chicken. "Here's the waiver. We found it online," and it essentially makes sure you know exactly what you are getting yourself into before the Carolina Reaper peppers hit your palate.

As we put it, "if you're going to go down this Reaper rabbit hole, you're signing a waiver." Why do people willingly do this on a hot Florida afternoon? Because around here, we love a good challenge, and nothing brings people together quite like watching a friend sweat through their shirt over a basket of spicy chicken.

With doors opening tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m., the big question is who in Tampa Bay is actually brave enough to walk up to the counter and sign on the dotted line. As we asked the local crew, "Who's doing this tomorrow? Who's signing the waiver and going in with the Reaper?"
